Mr. D has been the director of bands at SPHS since it's beginning. The program started in 2011 and Mr. D is proud of the constant success and growth of the program. He is the founder and past president of South Valley Winter Arts Association and current president of the California Band Directors Association.
Stephanie is the first SPHS color guard instructor joining the team in 2011. Throughout that time she has found much success as a performer, instructor, designer and drill writer. Stephanie serves currently as our Color Guard Caption Head, Drill Designer, and Band Secretary.
Roberto joined the staff as our Percussion Battery Caption Head in 2019. Roberto has experience as a performer and instructor that has allowed our percussion to grow and flourish over the years. He continues to inspire students and encourage them to push their musical boundaries.
Mr. Lambert joined the SPHS staff in 2022. However he is a former student teacher at SPHS from 2016. Lambert is the new band director at Parkview MS and Armona Elementary. He has a huge amount of knowledge in band and specifically percussion. We are excited to have Mr. Lambert on staff to continue and teach our students great technique and musicianship.
Jesse is a former graduate of SPHS (class of 2016), and current color guard tech. Jesse taught at a variety of schools in the south valley before returning back to SPHS in 2019. She returns with great experience to share with our students, and an aptitude to teach.
Travis joined the SPHS team as our marching tech in 2022. He has an extensive experience marching and teaching throughout the valley. Currently the director of bands at Barlett MS in Porterville, we are excited to have Travis on our team working with students on discipline and technique.
Jonny joined the SPHS team as our percussion tech in 2022. He has a great energy and knowledge of percussion that is pushing our students to new and improved levels. We are excited to have Jonny join the percussion team as our students begin to become more and more competitive and technique driven.
Brian has been working with the guard and overall band since 2015. During that time he has motivated and encouraged the students to continue to strive for excellence. His experience in guard and the overall marching arts brings a level of professionalism to our students and staff.
